Management Review and Improvement

Procedure

Annually, USMC-required Management Review documentation is developed and submitted it to senior leadership for review and comment. The final Management Review documentation (as per USMC policy) is posted to the EM Portal along with management review briefings and signed management review meeting minutes. Improvements specified by the CO, Director of Facilities, EAO, and Environmental Discussion Board, as a result of the Management Review, are implemented and monitored. Results of the Management Review are presented to the Environmental Discussion Board. As a result of the Management Review, actions are taken to help ensure the EMS is suitable to the current mission and effective in achieving the installation’s policy statement and environmental goals.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. EMS Program Manager: develops Management Review documentation and submits it to the EAO; submits the final Management Review documentation (including briefings and minutes); ensures appropriate improvements specified by the CO, Director of Facilities, EAO, and Environmental Discussion Board are implemented and monitored; coordinates and chairs the Environmental Discussion Board review meetings to present recommendations for the EMS.
2. Environmental Discussion Board: takes actions that ensure the EMS is suitable to the current mission and effective in achieving the installation’s policy statement and environmental goals.
3. Tenants: provide Management Review documentation for tenant EMS programs, as requested.
4. EAO: forwards the documentation to the Director of Facilities.
5. Director of Facilities: reviews and provides comments on the Management Review documentation and submits comments to the EAO.
