U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Edward Banta, center, Deputy Commandant of Installations and Logistics, stands with Marines and civilians from Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point Fuels Department at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, Nov. 30, 2022. This year the MCAS Cherry Point Fuels Department received three awards from the Naval Petroleum Office for its outstanding performance. Lt. Gen. Banta traveled to Cherry Point to personally recognize the award recipients and the fuel department for being named the Marine Corps Outstanding Fuels Facility of the Year, as well as the outstanding fuels civilian and Marine of the year.
