Marines assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 29, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, conducted a “101 Days of Summer” field meet at Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C. May 26, 2017. “101 Days of Summer” assists Marines with identifying and assessing potential risks commonly faced in the upcoming summer months. Marines assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, and Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 2, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, went head-to-head in an annual field meet to build camaraderie between the units at MCAS Cherry Point, N.C., Aug. 12, 2016. The Marines competed in nine events including relay races, a seven-ton truck pull, soccer and volleyball matches. Senior leadership and junior Marines alike cheered and motivated each other to bring out the best in themselves. The winner, H&HS, received a trophy and bragging rights until next year’s event.
