In light of Installation Readiness, Grant DeHaven, the Mission Assurance Program Manager for Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, shares guidance on Shelter-in-Place Procedures. Shelter-in-Place Procedures are measures put in place if an inherent danger has been reported outdoors, such as destructive weather. Although the installation guidance applies to everyone, each unit or section has their own specific procedures. Be sure to reach out to your respective chain of command or immediate supervisor if you have any questions about your office’s procedures.

Personnel assigned to the Navy Boat Docks at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., replace two hurricane buoys on the air station, July 10, 2018. The buoys are used during severe weather to secure naval vessels in open water to prevent the boats from being damaged during a storm.
