We Devil Dog Dare you. … To come and have some fun at the Devil Dog Dare at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. The course offers seven different stimulating events which include a rope course, rappelling, rock climbing, mountain biking, zip-lining and a 65-foot free fall drop zone for free to active duty service members. The paintball course is open to all Department of Defense employees. The Marine Warrior Library is designed to support the education, personal development and entertainment needs of all service members and their families stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. The library offers more than 25,000 print volumes, 215,000 e-books and 5,000 audiobooks. Alongside the reading materials, the library has an on-site café to meet your coffee and snack needs while completing homework or unit training utilizing their free WiFi. Other Marine Warrior Library services include video game console and game rentals; faxing, scanning and printing; music downloads; television series and movie rentals; 3D printing and many others. The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society was founded in 1904 and has been aiding service members and their families ever since. The society provides financial assistance and education, as well as other programs and services, to members of the United States Navy and Marine Corps, their eligible family members, widows, and survivors. The Society also receives and manages donated funds to administer these programs and services. Their main goal is to help each person who comes to them get support for their immediate needs. Their long-term mission is to help Sailors and Marines become financially self-sufficient by learning how to better manage their personal finances and prepare for unplanned expenses. The MCAS Cherry Point NMCRS provided over 1,000 clients with $569,035 in financial assistance in 2017. This assistance ranged from basic living expenses and transportation expenses to family emergency and funeral expenses, with much more in between. The relief society is comprised mostly of volunteers who work daily to give back to service members in need. Whether a Marine needs budget counseling or a Sailor needs a home visit from a nurse, the volunteers at MCAS Cherry Point NMCRS worked a tireless 14,878 hours in the past year providing assistance to our Marines and Sailors aboard the Cherry Point air station.

The Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C.’s Single Marine Program hosts the eighth annual Thanksgiving dinner aboard the air station, Nov. 23, 2017. Volunteers from Marine Corps Community Services and the outside community served over 800 Marines and their family members a full-course meal and desserts. Marine Corps Community Services hosted the annual Trees for Troops at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, Dec. 08, 2015. This is the 5th annual Trees for Troops which granted members of the Cherry Point community the opportunity to receive a free evergreen tree to take home and enjoy for the Christmas holiday.
