Corporals Leadership Course: Physical Training

As we continue to highlight the Corporals Leadership Course, today we focus on the Physical Training (PT) aspect of the course. Being physically fit is an essential part of the Marine Corps, so throughout the course instructors lead the students through vigorous PT sessions aimed at teaching them how to push through both mentally and physically stressful situations. Through many long, early mornings on the PT field, the students learn skills and techniques to bring back to their units and become more effective leaders.

We Devil Dog Dare you

We Devil Dog Dare you. … To come and have some fun at the Devil Dog Dare at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. The course offers seven different stimulating events which include a rope course, rappelling, rock climbing, mountain biking, zip-lining and a 65-foot free fall drop zone for free to active duty service members. The paintball course is open to all Department of Defense employees. 2019 Year in Review

From hosting the Super Guppy to a visit from the 38th Commandant of the Marine Corps, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, had an eventful year. It saw the turnover of its command leaders. Its community members worked hard and played hard in a multitude of training exercises and family events. It highlighted its hardworking Marines, Sailors and civilians and showed off some of what takes place behind the scenes of accomplishing the mission. Basic Rider Course

U.S. Marines learn how to safely operate and maneuver a motorcycle during the Basic Rider Course (BRC) at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, July 29 through July 30, 2019. BRC is a requirement for all Marines looking to operate a motorcycle on or off base, emphasizing the importance of rider safety and teaching the basics of how to be safe on the road. The course is also open to spouses or Marines who may not own or operate motorcycles, but are interested in learning more about motorcycle safety.

Born to Ride

Service members participated in the Circuit Rider Course (CRC) at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, July 24-25 2019. The CRC is the most advanced motorcycle course offered to Marines, Sailors and their families stationed at Cherry Point. The course teaches cutting-edge riding techniques to train the participants on how to deal with real world situations while on the road. All of the techniques are taught at real world speeds, giving the students a chance to familiarize themselves with the techniques while in a controlled, safe environment. This training is intended to reduce motorcycle mishaps for service members.

Champions Riding School

Service members participated in the Yamaha Champions Riding School motorcycle training class at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, June 13-14, 2019. The school teaches competition proven techniques of motorcycle control to riders whose goals are to be safer at higher speeds. The MCAS Cherry Point Motorcycle Mentorship Program facilitated the training for service members to increase motorcycle safety.
