Dennis Wilson, an Aquatic Maximum Power Intensity (AMP-IT) Instructor on Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, describes what AMP-IT is and what kind of training it consists of, June 30, 2021. AMP-IT was designed as the water version of High Intensity Tactical Training, but offered reduced stress on joints and bones as well as reduced risk of injury. Despite AMP-IT’s reduced physical stressors, it still offers a demanding workout and can be as challenging as land based physical training. Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina’s, satellite facilities allow services from across the Department of Defense to conduct training such; bombing, Joint Terminal Attack Controller, water and advanced interdiction training. These efforts ensure combat readiness from foreign and domestic threats. These facilities include, Bombing Target 11, Bombing Target 9, Marine Corps Outlying Field, Atlantic, Marine Corps Auxiliary Landing Field, Bogue and Marine Corps Outlying Field, Oak Grove.
