As we continue to highlight the Corporal’s Leadership Course, today we will focus on the Marines who help shape these corporals into the small unit leaders you see upon their graduation from the course. The Corporal’s Leadership Course Instructor’s lead from the front and set the example for the students. They are with the students all day long from physical training in the morning to class room instruction; from drill to uniform inspections; and from evaluations to graduation. As we continue to highlight the Corporals Leadership Course, today we focus on the Physical Training (PT) aspect of the course. Being physically fit is an essential part of the Marine Corps, so throughout the course instructors lead the students through vigorous PT sessions aimed at teaching them how to push through both mentally and physically stressful situations. Through many long, early mornings on the PT field, the students learn skills and techniques to bring back to their units and become more effective leaders.

Quick, someone call a Corpsman! U.S. Navy Corpsmen compete in a Corpsman Competition at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, June 14, 2019. The competition was held by corpsmen assigned to Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point in lieu of a ball for the 121st corpsman birthday. The competition included nine teams of five corpsmen who completed five events that tested the Sailors’ mental and physical stamina. Events included capture the flag paintball, a 250 meter swim pulling a patient, a one mile run through rough terrain and obstacles carrying a patient, a quiz on corpsmen history and a test on clinical knowledge. Marines assigned to Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 2 participate in a semiannual operational pause at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Sept. 22, 2017. For an engaging and interactive experience, the Marines combined learning and physical fitness; ditching the normal classroom routine. Marines assigned to Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 2 participated in their annual Combat Fitness Test at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Sept. 20, 2017. A CFT monitor’s responsibility is to set up the course accurate to regulations and ensure the integrity of the performances throughout the evaluation. The purpose of the CFT is to evaluate a Marines’ strength, stamina, agility and coordination during three simulated combat events. MWHS-2 is assigned to 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
