Fuel Shortage Impacts

11 May 2021 | Sgt. Christian J. Lopez Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point

Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point has implemented various measures in consideration of the fuel shortage impacting the state. The shortage is expected to impact availability of and access to some air station services.

Personnel should contact their immediate supervisor or respective chain of command regarding work scheduling, reporting for duty and other guidance. For personnel reporting to work, use of ride-sharing options are encouraged.

As of 5:40 p.m., May 11, the pumps at both gas stations on the air station are closed. It is not projected when more will be available at the pumps on the installation. Only authorized personnel will be allowed to purchase fuel from the Marine Corps Exchange (MCX) gas stations (enforced by ID checks). MCCS will provide updates about fuel supply availability via the MCCSCherryPoint Facebook page.

Patrons of air station services are advised to check local information sources to be sure of availability ahead of visiting the service location.

Information about changes to services will be posted at www.cherrypoint.marines.mil.
