Persistence Through COVID-19

With the Coronavirus (COVID-19) undeniably in our presence, Marines and Sailors alike have been impacted, some more than others. When U.S. Marine Corps Pfc. Matthew T. Schulz arrived at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California, Jan. 27, 2020, COVID-19 was just a rumor. But by the end of his boot camp experience, the country had implemented the stay at home order and their graduation had been cancelled. This was only the first obstacle that would keep him separated from his fiancée and her newborn daughter.

Alcohol in the barracks

For personnel living in barracks 4881, it’s important to know your limit. The amount of alcohol you can keep in your barracks room for service members ranking E-1 to E-3 is either a six pack of beer, six pack of wine coolers, or one bottle of wine. For service members ranking E-4 to E-5 is either a 12 pack of beer, 12 pack of wine coolers, or one bottle of wine. Don’t forget to always have a designated driver should you plan to leave the barracks after consuming alcohol, and most importantly stay safe this weekend! (U.S. Marine Corps video by Sgt. Tirelessly, medical personnel have been grinding away to diagnose and treat any and all persons that have come in contact with the virus. Here at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, it isn’t any different. The medical staff at Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point (NHCCP) have been on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19 since the beginning.
