Know Your Location

2 Aug 2020 | Sgt. Tylor J. Camfield Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point

Here at MCAS Cherry Point, we are fortunate to have our military emergency responders and civilian emergency responders ready to answer the call in our time of need. However, their ability to assist is often slowed by one major factor – those calling for aid don’t know where to send help. Our emergency personnel’s jobs require them to arrive on-scene as soon as possible to assist in any given emergency situation. When not enough information is provided, their response time is hindered and dispatch and the responding emergency personnel lose crucial time. Whether working out, driving around or just trying to get to a new location for the first time, it’s important to keep the habit of knowing your present location at all times, on-duty and off-duty so that those emergency personnel who work day and night can better serve those who protect our country.
