More than 250 personnel departed Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in support of operations in southern Afghanistan Feb. 1.

“I’m excited, this is my first deployment and a new journey,” said Cpl. Keith A. Hoffee, an embarkation specialist with II Marine Expeditionary Force. “It’s what we do as Marines and I’m finally getting the chance to contribute.”
