Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C. -- U.S. Marines with Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point Special Reaction Team (SRT) and civilian Firefighters with Cherry Point Fire and Emergency Services (CPF&ES) team up to conduct joint forced entry training at Fire Station 1, MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, April 8, 2021. Joint forced entry training allows SRT to familiarize themselves using different tools to breach a home. This is useful when responding to calls where a possible threat may be looming on the other side. CPF&ES use the training for entering homes during a search and rescue when doors are locked.
“I am glad we could come together,” said Supervisory Firefighter Capt. Joshua Ridgway of ladder 1. “This is a really good face-to-face, for the fire department and Provost Marshalls Office, it creates a really good working environment.”
