MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. -- U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Julian Alford, Marine Corps Installations (MCI) East commanding general, visited Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, on Sept. 23, 2019, to appraise the installation's readiness capabilities and the installation commander's priorities for supporting the operating forces, tenant commands, military personnel and families. During the visit Alford assessed various building damage sustained during Hurricanes Florence and Dorian, and discussed future construction on the air station to accommodate the fielding of the F-35B Joint Strike Fighter
