Dennis Wilson, an Aquatic Maximum Power Intensity (AMP-IT) Instructor on Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, describes what AMP-IT is and what kind of training it consists of, June 30, 2021. AMP-IT was designed as the water version of High Intensity Tactical Training, but offered reduced stress on joints and bones as well as reduced risk of injury. Despite AMP-IT’s reduced physical stressors, it still offers a demanding workout and can be as challenging as land based physical training. The High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) program, established in 2012, gives active duty and active reserve Marines and Sailors a great opportunity to enhance fitness levels and optimize combat readiness and resiliency. Marines compete in the 3rd annual High Intensity Tactical Training preliminary competition at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., June 28, 2018. The winning male and female will go on to represent MCAS Cherry Point in the HITT final competition at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 24-28, 2018.
