From our family, to yours, we would like to wish everyone a happy New Year! 2021 has been an eventful and unforgettable year. Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point celebrated its 80th anniversary, hosted an air show, and welcomed East Carolina University onto Cherry Point. And that's just the tip of the iceberg! Let's take a look back at some of those memories.

If you’re having a pumpkin party, make sure everyone knows what kind of party it is. With Halloween just around the corner, it’s important to remember some key trick-or-treating guidelines: groups should be no larger than 10 people; keep six feet between trick-or-treating groups; wear bright colors; parents/guardians should inspect all candy and throw away unwrapped pieces; and wash your hands before you eat any treats. Last but certainly not least, have fun! The air show featured demonstrations from a host of many talented performers from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, Hubie Tolson, RJ Gritter and Stephen Covington to a Marine Air-Ground Task Force Demonstration, the F-35B Lightning II and the AV-8B Harrier II during the 2021 MCAS Cherry Point Air Show and 80th Anniversary Celebration on Sept. 25-26, at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. Randall L. Siler, a teacher at Grover C. Fields Middle School, New Bern, North Carolina, took the ride of a lifetime as a passenger along with one of the U.S. Navy’s premier demonstration squadron pilots — Blue Angels — at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Sept. 22, 2021. Siler was chosen by the Blue Angels as a key influencer and was the pick for the flight in conjunction with the MCAS Cherry Point Air Show. As a school teacher, Siler is committed to having a positive impact on his students with a desire to positively impact the future of the community and the country.
