Jan 21, 2025
Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point is in Winter Storm Condition I, as of 11 a.m., Jan. 21, 2025. The condition is set based on the expectation of ice or snow accumulation occurring within six hours. Wednesday, the installation will be open for essential personnel, primarily managing the impacts of the weather event. All personnel are responsible for contacting their immediate supervisor or chain of command for specific guidance or direction. • Today, the Child Development Centers will sustain care until no later than 3 p.m. and will be closed Wednesday. • The Marine Dome will open as a warming shelter to support personnel and residents, especially in emergency events such as loss of power or heat. • Personnel and facility managers are advised to report power and heating outages to 252-466-6343/4364. Additionally, in the interest of safety, Slocum Gate will close at 10 p.m. and remain closed until 6 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 23.
