A Marine with 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion fires a PL-87 Stinger Missile at an unmanned aerial target on Onslow Beach aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. during 2nd LAAD's live Stinger Missile shoot Sept. 17. “The threats that we face as a LAAD battalion range from manned enemy aircraft to the possibility of an air to land missiles that need to be taken out,” said Master Sgt. Joshua J. Hillbrand, operations chief for 2nd LAAD Bn. “There are a lot of threats in the world and the things we have seen are not traditional threats.”
