 Turkey Season

Turkey Season is currently open at MCAS Chery Point.  In order to maintain installation mandated social distancing and reduce exposure to Conservation Law Enforcement Office (CLEO) staff, hunters will abide by the following “Ground Rules”:

  1. Because CLEO staff are unable to hold Hunter Orientation courses at this time, patrons that have not completed the course in the last 3 years will not be allowed to purchase a permit.  This requirement will NOT be waived, as all safety rules are covered within the course.
  2. All outlying fields are closed to hunting.
  3. Access to each hunting area will be restricted to a single hunter.
  4. CLEO staff will clean and sanitize the check in/check out board frequently. Since pens and pencils have been removed each hunter must provide their own.
  5. Hunters will be required to weigh in their own birds and fill out the required paperwork.  Cleaning stations will be sanitized and wiped down after each use.
  6. No entrance is permitted into the CLEO staff office. No restrooms inside the building will be available for use.  The onsite cooler will not be available for use.
  7. Hunters will be required to wear protective face coverings when checking in and out.  Face coverings will be required whenever patrons are in close proximity to CLEO staff for license check, weapons/ammo inspection, etc.
