The family of Petty Officer 1st Class Anacleto De La Garza and members of the Havelock Military Affairs committee pose for a photo during the Military Family of the Quarter ceremony in Havelock, Jan. 26. The Havelock Military Affairs Committee awarded Chief Petty Officer 1st Class Anacleto De La Garza and his family for volunteering more than 200 hours in the local community. The De La Garza family has volunteered and assisted with a variety of organizations and events to include: Cherry Point’s Breast Cancer 5K Color Run, the Veteran Services Association 2015 Veteran’s Day Parade, the Annunciation Catholic Church Daily Bread and the 25th Scroogefest Arts and Crafts Festival. Children gather to meet Santa Claus during the annual 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing band Christmas concert at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Dec. 4, 2015. Audience members shared laughs and cheers with other members of the community while also getting the opportunity to donate to the Toys for Tots foundation. The 2nd MAW band has held the traditional concert at the air station as a way to bring both the military and local community together to unwind and share in the holiday spirit.
