Designed to allow special needs children to have greater accessibility and for wounded warriors to play with their children, the playground enables the children to play to their fullest extent. The playground has a wheechair accessible swing, two infant-toddler swings and wheelchair accessible ramps to the elevated areas of the playground. The playground is a part of a $10 million effort to improve access for persons with special needs in 39 military installations, and this one is one of the firsts. Located in front of Lawson Village, the playground is open from dawn to dusk with parental supervision and is free to all families.
