Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC. -- Practice makes perfect
Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point conducted the Sudden Crisis 2022 Exercise on and around the air station, Oct. 11, 2022. The full-scale, joint exercise was conducted to validate the air station’s ability to respond to an emergency on the installation, and dispatch appropriate emergency response assets. The air station’s directorates and tenant commands conducted the exercise in conjunction with NC Wildlife, Craven County Sheriff’s Office, NC Division of Marine Fisheries, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Additionally, it evaluated the command’s ability to activate its Emergency Operations Center and exercise command and control of multiple incident scenarios that played out simultaneously.
The training exercise played a vital role in maintaining and improving the air station’s ability to communicate with external agencies and enhance relationships with local law enforcement organizations.
