Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C. -- Anchored in supporting the community
Starting the work week off strong, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) Active Duty Fund Drive kicked off at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, Feb. 28, 2022. Installation and Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point leadership showed their support by making the first donations.
The NMCRS is a nonprofit, volunteer service organization that offers support to those who need it the most, including financial and educational assistance to Marines, Sailors, and their family members. The Active Duty Fund Drive helps increase awareness of the program and collects donations to help those in need. Last year the program provided more than $297,000 to 410 service members and their families.
“We’re glad to get the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society fund drive kicked off so that we can use this period of time to gather funds that help support the society, which directly supports our Marines and Sailors," said Col. Mikel Huber, MCAS Cherry Point commanding officer.
Donations can be made through April, 15, 2022. To donate, visit https://www.nmcrs.org/locations/entry/cherry-point
