Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) hosted their 20th Annual Sprint Triathlon at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Aug. 17, 2019. The event was held to promote health and physical fitness as well as community athleticism and camaraderie.

Around 90 participants, including service members and their families from the local community and surrounding area took part in a 400-meter swim, 10-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run.

“This event gives the local community the opportunity to bond with the military members,” said Bernadine Crosby, the special event coordinator with MCCS. “It gives them a chance to network.”

The participants were categorized into 12 groups based on age and gender. The 1st through 3rd place finishers of each group were awarded trophies.
