Cherry Point Officers’ Spouses’ Club hosted the 2014 OSC Joint Luncheon at Miller’s Landing here April 24. The annual joint luncheon gives spouses from the surrounding military installations a opportunity to gather and build camaraderie amongst each other in a laid-back environment. Emergency personnel tend to simulated victims April 29, during a mass casualty exercise aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. Marines and North Carolina Girl Scouts gather for a photo in front of more than 7,000 boxes of cookies May 13 inside the Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 2 supply building during the Girl Scouts’ annual Operation Cookie Drop. Operation Cookie Drop is a program in which local Girl Scouts deliver cookies to military personnel from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, Fort Bragg and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Ryan Madden works within Marine Tactical Air Control Squadron 28’s tactical air command center June 4 at Sunset Park at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C. during a mobility exercise June 2-4. The exercise tested the squadron’s ability to move a tactical air command center, the main component, forward to support the ground scheme of maneuver. Captain Michael Cortes volunteered to assist the Coastal Women's Shelter raise awareness of domestic violence during the shelter’s annual 5k, June 21. Marines volunteered through the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Single Marine Program, encouraging runners to finish the race and providing them water along the course. The CWS provides services to domestic abuse victims including moral support, places to live and resources for healing their relationships.
