The 2nd MAW band performed at the ceremony to help celebrate the 2nd MAW’s proud history and play the National Anthem during the raising of the colors. 2nd MAW, activated and commissioned July 10, 1941, turned 70 on Sunday. Lance Cpl. Kenneth S. Glutz throws the softball to first base during Motor Transport Company’s first softball game against the Air Operations Company at Marine Wing Support Squadron 274’s family day event at the softball complex July 8. The softball tournament was a double-elimination style tournament and featured the many companies of MWSS-274: air field ops, motor transport, engineer, headquarters and a staff noncommissioned officer and officer team. Motor Transport Company made it to the championship game where it lost to Engineer Company 15-0. - Lance Cpl. Kenneth S.
