Command Biographies

CLC-21 Company Commander
First Lieutenant Matthew S. Dunn

First Lieutenant Dunn is a native of Rockland, Massachusetts. In August of 2017, he enrolled at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets and the Norwich University Football Team. Lieutenant Dunn completed his studies at Norwich with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in May of 2021. 

Immediately following graduation, Second Lieutenant Dunn commissioned in the Marine Corps and reported to The Basic School (TBS) in Quantico, Virginia that following October with Alpha Company. Upon finishing TBS in May of 2022, he was selected as a 3002 Ground Supply Officer and reported to his first unit, 2d Supply Battalion, 2d Marine Logistics Group (MLG) aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Second Lieutenant Dunn conducted on the job training (OJT) with the Battalion Supply Officer before reporting to the Supply Chain Management Officer’s Course (SCMOC) on Camp Johnson. 

Upon completion of SCMOC, Second Lieutenant Dunn went back to 2d Supply Battalion and worked as the Fiscal Officer in Charge (OIC) for the Supply Management Unit (SMU) until January of 2023. In January of 2023, he became the Battalion Supply Officer for 2d Supply Battalion managing over $35 million worth of assets for the Battalion and executing a budget of over $2 million dollars. Towards the end of 2023, now First Lieutenant Dunn, aided in the development of 2d Combat Readiness Regiment (CRR) as the Regimental Supply Officer. In April of 2024, First Lieutenant Dunn attached to 2d Distribution Support Battalion (DSB), 2d MLG in support of Exercise Native Fury 24 and went to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Responsible Officer (RO) managing over $39 million dollars’ worth of assets while working with Blount Island Command (BIC) to maintain control over all assets during the execution of the exercise. 

Following his return from Native Fury 24, First Lieutenant Dunn turned over his supply account at 2d CRR and became the Executive Officer (XO) for Supply Company, 2d CRR for a brief period before moving to become the Company Commander for Combat Logistics Company 21 (CLC-21) on Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point.
