Ken Jones, a Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) representative, receives a grant for $1000, from Katie Walker, the Cherry Point Spouses Club chairwoman of the assistance committee at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, June 3, 2021. The grant will allow Jones to offer up to 5 survivors with a year of services. According to TAPS, they provides services through a peer support network. For more than four decades the Whistle Stop Thrift Shop on MCAS Cherry Point has enabled the Cherry Point Spouses Club to donate a significant monetary value for scholarships and assistance awards to the MCAS Cherry Point community.
