U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Alexandra Amor Santosarambu/Released 201105-M-ZE543-0058.JPG
Dec 3, 2020
The water’s current moves toward land in Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Nov. 5, 2020. Records show the Neuse shoreline had suffered significant erosion, receding more than 20 feet, since the late 1990s. The new shoreline layout will incorporate unique designs that will allow the shoreline to constantly add sediment material as opposed to having it continually eroded away year after year.
