A settlement plate floats close to the shores of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Nov. 5, 2020. This device is used to gather data along the Neuse River for the Cherry Point Environmental Affairs Department, in partnership with Duke University, for the potential restoration of oysters in the area. Oysters are filter-feeders and can help improve water quality by filtering out contaminants. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Alexandra Amor Santos Arambulo)
