Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Images

Nov 5, 2018

“Oscar,” a 75-foot Landing Craft Mechanized ship operated by U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to the Navy Boat Docks at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., rests on blocks before undergoing maintenance, Oct. 10, 2018. The Sailors took Oscar to a commercial boat yard near Beaufort, N.C., to conduct maintenance on it due to MCAS Cherry Point not having a lift big enough to hoist the ship out of the water. In addition to the scheduled annual maintenance on Oscar, the Sailors also conduct annual maintenance on five other naval vessels to maintain readiness throughout the year.
