Marines with Marine Attack Squadron 223 participate in shallow water egress training at Camp Lejeune’s combat training pool Oct. 3 in preparation for an upcoming deployment. The training provided the Marines with an opportunity to learn how to properly execute emergency procedures in an event of a helicopter crash at sea. Howard C. Broseker shakes the hand of the commanding officer at the Naval Radio Transmitting Facility Annapolis Naval Station, North Severn in Annapolis, Md. at his retirement in 1986. The transmitting facility supports the establishment and operation of a transatlantic communication system. Broseker continued to serve fellow military members by working in the civil service sector for an additional 30 years after serving 31 years in the Navy and Air Force. Broseker is a 90-year-old war veteran who thrives on love for his fellow service members and family. - Howard C.
