Micheal McGarr participates in a K-9 training demonstration at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Sept. 18, 2015. The demonstration was a part of a series of activities available for spouses and families to partake in, for the 2nd annual Open House event hosted by Marine Air Control Squadron 2. The event was designed to emphasize the importance of family readiness by allowing the family members to visit the work space and become familiar with the equipment that their Marines use on a day-to-day basis. Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point will begin training a team whose primary focus will be to lead all personnel here in the growing effort – and requirement – to reduce energy consumption and costs. President Obama recently issued Executive Order 13963 which directs federal agencies to reduce energy consumption by 2.5% annually through 2025.Cherry Point aims to instill an Energy Ethos – the shared vision that efficient use of energy resources is a critical component of mission readiness – in every Marine and civilian living and working on the installation. - Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point will begin training a team whose primary focus will be to lead all personnel here in the growing effort – and requirement – to reduce energy consumption and costs.
