MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. -- -- Lt. Col. Jeffrey M. Bolduc relinquished command of Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14 to Lt. Col. Bryan T. Horvath during a change of command ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Sept. 18, 2014.
MALS-14 provides logistical support to an Aviation Combat Element with a variety of aircraft configurations. It also facilitates the simultaneous support of separate aircraft detachments.
“It has been an honor to lead and serve the Marines of MALS-14,” said Bolduc. “I have been amazed by the superb leadership they exhibited daily and I am extremely proud of all the accomplishments these Marines have achieved.”
Bolduc arrived at MALS-14 in November 2012 and will leave the squadron to join Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 2 where he will serve as the senior aviation supply officer.
“Through exceptional support to the MAG, the Dragons have proved that they are truly ‘Second to None’, not through anything I have done, but by working together as one team exhibiting professionalism and expertise at all times,” said Bolduc. “Remember that our Marines are our most precious asset; if you take care of them and their families, they will ensure the mission gets accomplished.”
This is Horvath’s third tour with MALS-14. He previously served as the operations officer and assistant operations officer of MALS-14 between 2005 and 2007. He was assigned as the squadrons executive officer in July 2011.
“I am looking forward to returning to my home,” said Horvath. “I am truly honored and humbled to lead and train the Marines and Sailors of MALS-14.”
Horvath returns to MALS-14 after serving as deputy inspector general and magistrate for Marine Corps Installations East at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
“I want all Marines and Sailors to depart MALS-14 better than when they arrived,” said Horvath. “Whether they serve for four years or 20 years.”
