U.S. Marines volunteering with the Single Marine Program (SMP), stopped by the Carteret County Humane Society and Animal Shelter to help the shelter’s employees take care of our favorite four legged friends on Feb. 26, 2020. The SMP volunteers, stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point (MCAS), North Carolina, helped clean, water, feed, and even got to spend some quality time with the animals currently at the shelter. SMP at MCAS Cherry Point offers this volunteer opportunity for active duty and reserve Marines and Sailors every Saturday.
