The outbound lanes of the Main Gate on Roosevelt Boulevard at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point will be temporarily closed starting Aug. 17. The closure is necessary to install critical security and infrastructure upgrades and is projected to last approximately four to six weeks.

To mitigate traffic congestion and disruptions, the installation will offer adjusted operating hours and modify traffic patterns at some of its access control points.

During the closure, personnel, residents, and guests are encouraged to use Cunningham Gate as the alternative exit.

Gate Operations:
Cunningham Gate will operate 24/7 for inbound and outbound traffic, with lane modifications from 2:30 to 6 p.m. to facilitate outbound traffic flow during peak afternoon hours. Main Gate will operate 24/7 for inbound traffic only. Slocum Gate will maintain its normal operating schedule of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 6 a.m. to 1 a.m., Friday through Sunday. Slocum Gate will be open for inbound traffic only from 6 to 8 a.m., Monday through Friday. After the start of the school year, Catawba Gate will operate for outbound traffic only for housing residents from 6 to 8 a.m.
