Brig. Gen. Matthew Glavy visits Marines with Marine Wing Support Detachment 31 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, S.C., Oct. 14, 2016. Glavy visited the air station to assess the effects of Hurricane Matthew and attend the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 122 change of command ceremony. Glavy issued the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal to Capt. Seve Aguinaga and commended all the Marines there for their tremendous efforts in preparing and responding to the storm, noting they “were fighting outside of their weight class” after conducting operations normally expected of larger support squadrons to minimize impacts of the hurricane.
