Corporals Leadership Course: The Instructor October 24, 2019 — As we continue to highlight the Corporal’s Leadership Course, today we will focus on the Marines who help shape these corporals into the small unit leaders you see upon their graduation from the course. The Corporal’s Leadership Course Instructor’s lead from the front and set the example for the students. They are with the students all day long from physical training in the morning to class room instruction; from drill to uniform inspections; and from evaluations to graduation. Halloween Candy Screening October 23, 2019 — Cherry Point Police and Fire/Emergency Medical Services will be providing candy screening stations from 6-8 p.m., Halloween Night, Oct. 31, in Nugent Cove (Alexander and Gates Road) and at the Grant’s Landing Playground. McGruff the Crime Dog will join police officers and fire fighters and help with candy screening to make sure trick-or-treaters have a safe and enjoyable night. Traffic Pattern Obstruction October 23, 2019 — Public Works Department will be conducting maintenance in the median on Slocum Road adjacent to the Fuel Depot, from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26. MORE

Corporals Leadership Course: The Student October 23, 2019 — Corporals Leadership Course is an essential stepping stone for newly promoted corporals. This course focuses on all of the fundamentals of making remarkable young leaders. It gives corporals the chance to explore different leadership styles to help understand the leader that they want to become. They are tested throughout the course on common knowledge, physical fitness and ethical decision making. MORE

Corporals Leadership Course: Physical Training October 22, 2019 — As we continue to highlight the Corporals Leadership Course, today we focus on the Physical Training (PT) aspect of the course. Being physically fit is an essential part of the Marine Corps, so throughout the course instructors lead the students through vigorous PT sessions aimed at teaching them how to push through both mentally and physically stressful situations. Through many long, early mornings on the PT field, the students learn skills and techniques to bring back to their units and become more effective leaders. MORE

Rocktoberfest 2019 October 22, 2019 — Rock bands Candlebox and Adelitas Way rocked the crowd of about 2,500 at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point’s sixth annual Rocktoberfest Oct. 17, 2019. MORE

Corporals Leadership Course: The Mission October 21, 2019 — MSgt. Nicholas DiRoma, SNCOIC of Corporals Leadership Course, shares with us the purpose of the course at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. For Marines who have recently picked up the rank of corporal, Corporals Leadership Course is a great opportunity to learn new leadership styles and their roles and responsibilities as noncommissioned officers.
