MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT -- Rock bands Candlebox and Adelitas Way rocked the crowd of about 2,500 at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point’s sixth annual Rocktoberfest Oct. 17, 2019.
The Marine Corps Community Services tribute to service members delivered more than 2,000 meals and 1,500 soft pretzels and beer. The locally known DJ Big Mike Saunders kept the bash going as unit competition and games such as Hammerschlagen, giant jenga, corn hole and stein hoisting played out in the background.
Rocktoberfest is a local adaptation of the renowned German cultural event that was offered free by MCCS.
