Often times, resolving issues of a personal or professional nature may be a grueling process. There are, however, many resources available to help remedy the matters that do not involve formal channels. Take the necessary steps to investigate and seek out these resources. In many cases, these informal channels have helped others satisfy their needs. In matters of a personal nature, the guidance of your Chaplain may be warranted to give you solid direction in what may seem to be very distressing. Navy Chaplains have been a great source of comfort and reliable support since the inception of the Marine Corps. They are well trained and educated to take actions that are fitting to tackle your issues. If possible, ask for guidance from your immediate chain of command. If that is not an option, than a good starting point may be with the many available resources offered by MCCS and Family Services.

If your grievance involves discrimination and is racially biased than contact the Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, Equal Opportunity Advisor. Military members may opt to Request Mast.

To make sure your complaint goes without failure, research your topic. There have been instances where a complaint is dropped simply because there is insufficient subject matter to warrant an investigation. This subject matter may be defined as "lack of grounds", "trivial", or of an "incongruous nature". Failing to research the validity of your grievance may lead to further hardship.

It is in your best interest to document every detailed facet involved in your complaint. This will facilitate the expeditious closure of an appropriate matter for investigation.

Once you have gathered all the necessary information and have researched the plausibility of your complaint, you should then fill out and submit a Hotline Complaint Form to the Station Inspector or to leave your complaint by telephone call (252) 466-2016.

In order to begin filing your complaint you must:

2. Make sure the form is filled out with as much information as possible. Leave no blanks in the information blocks.
3. Forward the completed form to the Station Inspector electronically, via-mail, facsimile or standard correspondence.
