U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Andrew King/Released 181029-M-WM087-0035.JPG
Nov 5, 2018
U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Jonathan Grant, a boatswain mate assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, removes painting tape from the bottom of “Oscar,” a 75-foot Landing Craft Mechanized ship operated by Sailors assigned to the Navy Boat Docks at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Oct. 29, 2018. From top to bottom, the entire ship was refurbished at a commercial boat yard near Beaufort, N.C. From blasting the barnacles off the bottom, to applying multiple coats of paint and primer, to welding any dings and dents the boat has suffered throughout the past year; no blemish was overlooked.
