U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. U. Roberts/Released 160501-M-GY210-555.JPG
May 9, 2016
A member of the GEICO Skytypers cruises the flight line after an aerbatic performance at the 2016 Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Air Show – “Celebrating 75 Years” at MCAS Cherry Point, N.C., May 1, 2016. The GEICO Skytypers’ flight squadron of six SNJ-2 aircraft perform precision flight maneuvers. The team of vintage World War II aircraft is known for skytyping the process of emitting biodegradable vapor in a dot matrix pattern, creating a billboard in the sky. This year’s air show celebrated MCAS Cherry Point and 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing’s 75th anniversary and featured 40 static displays, 17 aerial performers with something fun for all ages.
