Jennifer Archer, a human resources (HR) specialist with Human Resources Office-East, was awarded a Certificate of Commendation at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, March 15, 2022. The award was from U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Andrew M. Niebel, Marine Corps Installations East commanding general, and recognized Archer as the Civilian Employee of the Year. Additionally, the HR Department named her its HR Specialist of the Year, and U.S. Marine Corps Col. Mikel Huber, MCAS Cherry Point commanding officer, presented her with a challenge coin in honor of her command level support.

Archer was recognized because of her notable achievements, including finalizing the contract between MCAS Cherry Point and National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA). Archer credits her team and their expertise in aviation and negotiations for being able to successfully complete the task several weeks before the deadline.

“Management trusted me to go in and get it done and protect their interests,” Archer said. “I’m very grateful and I’m honored to receive the award.”
