Major Travis J. Strean CNATT Executive Officer

Major Strean enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in September of 1997 and is a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. In December of 2005, upon completion of OCS, he was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps and graduated TBS in May of 2007.

After TBS, 2ndLt Strean reported to Whiting Field for Aircraft Maintenance Officer school with follow-on assignment to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 12 (MALS-12). During his time at MALS-12, Lt Strean held several billets to include Aviation Life Support System OIC and Airframes OIC. While at MALS-12, he deployed to Foal Eagle 2008 and Afghanistan as a Team Leader for Embedded Training Team (ETT) 1-11.  Upon his return to MALS-12, Captain Strean was assigned to VMFA (AW) 242 and served as the Material Control Officer (MCO) for the remainder of the assignment deploying to Foal Eagle 2010 and Cobra Gold 2010.

In 2010, Captain Strean transferred to HMH-464 where he served as the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer until being re-assigned to MALS-29 as the Quality Assurance Officer (QAO).  Following several key inspections, Captain Strean took over as the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer until reassignment to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

At DTRA, Major Strean was certified as a Treaty Inspector where he conducted several Treaty Inspections in non-NATO countries throughout Europe.  In addition, Major Strean also represented the United States Government as the senior representative at several Russian and Ukrainian led inspections involving U.S. personnel and equipment.  Major Strean then took over as the Chief of Current Operations tracking the hundreds of missions that DTRA executed throughout the European Theater.

In July of 2016, Maj Strean arrived at the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Marine Unit at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point as the Executive Officer.

Major Strean’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, The Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
