LtCol Moll graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1996.  After his commission as a 2ndLt in January of 1997, 2ndLt Moll attended The Basic School, and then trained as a fixed wing pilot in Pensacola, FL and Kingsville, TX. After flight school, he reported to VMAT-203 for AV-8B training. In July of 2001, Capt Moll joined Marine Attack Squadron 223 (VMA-223) in Cherry Point, NC. While serving with VMA-223, he deployed aboard the USS Iwo Jima with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit supporting the JTF Liberia humanitarian mission. During this tour, he held all company grade billets within the Operations Department and he served as the Quality Assurance Officer (QAO) in the Maintenance Department.

After a three month period as the 2MAW G-1 Plans Officer, Capt Moll reported to VMA-542 with immediate orders to support Operation IRAQI FREEDOM with the first fixed wing squadron at Al Asad Airbase, Iraq where he flew combat sorties during Operation AL FAJR in Fallujah. While assigned to VMA-542, HQMC selected Capt Moll to represent the USMC as an exchange officer to the Italian Navy where he served as the Pilot Training Officer and LSO in the Italian AV-8B squadron.  During this tour, he learned Italian and participated in NATO and Italian maritime operations aboard the ITS Garibaldi.
In October of 2008, Maj Moll reported to II MEF G-3 where he joined the Fires & Effects Coordination Center and deployed to Afghanistan. He planned multiple missions in Helmand Province and coordinated joint and coalition air power in support of USMC operations. Two notable operations were Operation KHANJAR and Operation MOSHTAREK in Marjeh.

In July of 2010, Maj Moll reported to VMA-311 in Yuma, AZ where he assumed responsibilities as the Aircraft Maintenance Officer and then as the Operations Officer. He then led operations for a detachment aboard the USS Peleliu and deployed with the 15th MEU where he served as the ACE FOPSO.

Maj Moll reported to the Wounded Warrior Regiment in August of 2013 where he was promoted to LtCol and again served in Future Operations and as the Operations Officer where he led operations in support of the most severely wounded Sailors and Marines.  LtCol Moll reported to Cherry Point in September of 2015 and served as the Director of Safety and the Deputy Director of Operations before assuming duties as the Executive Officer in June of 2016. 

LtCol Moll’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal Strike/Flight award with numeral “5”, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars, and various unit and campaign awards.  LtCol Moll has a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, a Masters degree in Diplomacy and Conflict Management and he is a graduate of Air University’s Air War College.  LtCol Moll has amassed over 2200 mishap free flight hours.
